Markdown guide
Markdown is a way of writing plain text that turns into a formatted page. You
type a # in front of a line to make it a heading, put **stars** round a word
to make it bold, and start a line with - to make a list. There are no menus
to hunt through: what you type is what you get. Your text stays readable on its
own, even before Jollify turns it into anything.
One document, many outputs
In Jollify you write one Markdown document and choose what it becomes. The same headings, lists and pictures can be a presentation, a printed report, a website or a VR presentation. Each kind adds a few extras of its own, such as speaker notes for a presentation or footnotes for a report. Everything else works the same way everywhere.
The guides
Start with the basics, then read the guide for the kind of document you are making.
- The basics: headings, bold and italic, lists, links, pictures, tables, classes, blocks and shapes. These work in every kind of document.
- Presentations: slides, covers, backgrounds, columns, step-by-step reveals, speaker notes, quizzes and charts.
- Reports: chapters, lead paragraphs, callouts, columns, footnotes, charts and QR codes, laid out as printed pages.
- Websites: pages, menus, sections, links between pages and email links.
- VR presentations: slides you stand inside, each on its own platform, with a ready-made scene.
- Venues: a 3D walk-through of a building, drawn from a floor plan.
