Venues

A venue is a 3D walk-through of a real place, such as a museum, a school or a village hall. Visitors walk round it in their web browser, or in a VR headset. You do not write a venue in Markdown: you draw it as a floor plan, seen from above, and Jollify builds the rooms and walls up from the plan. In the editor a venue is called a Virtual layout.

Drawing the plan

Pick a tool above the plan and draw. Every shape you draw becomes part of the building.

Tool What it makes
Room A room with walls and a floor: drag from corner to corner
Any shape A room of any shape: click its corners, then the first one again
Wall A wall: click along it, then double-click to finish
Door A door or window: draw it across a wall and it snaps into place
Stairs A flight of stairs up to the next storey
Model A 3D model from your files, such as a statue or a display case
Ground Grass or paving under the building

What you get: a building you can walk through, with rooms joined by the doors you drew.

Floors

Each floor is a tab above the plan. Draw the ground floor first, then add a floor and draw the one above, joined by stairs.

What you get: a building with more than one storey, and stairs that take visitors between them.

Setting up each shape

Select a shape and the inspector sets it up: a room's name, floor colour and height, which way a flight of stairs climbs, or which model file to show and which way it faces.

What you get: rooms with their names, at the heights you chose, and models turned the right way.

Walk round it

Overview shows the whole building from above, and Walk puts you inside it at eye height.

What you get: a live 3D preview beside the plan, which changes as you draw.

Slides on a plan

The only Markdown that goes with a plan is the script of a VR presentation, which puts slides on platforms you draw.

# The Victorian gallery

Toys and games from the 1800s, on the first floor.

What you get: in a VR presentation, a platform whose panel shows this heading and text.
